Packing for work in Dubai
what to take and what to leave at home

Tick things off — the list is saved on this device so you can come back to it before the flight. Documents and medicines go in hand luggage, everything else in the hold.

The small things people remember at the airport

The ticks are stored only in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

Leave at home

What must not be brought into the UAE

UAE laws on prohibited substances are strict — even something sold freely at home can cause trouble.

Controlled medicines without permission

Permission from the Emirates Drug Establishment first, the ticket second.

Narcotic substances

Including products with CBD and THC — oils, sweets, cosmetics.

Weapons and replicas

Including items that look like weapons.

Material that insults religion

Printed, on USB sticks and on your phone.

Three tips before you fly

  1. Weigh your suitcase at home

The baggage allowance is on your ticket. Excess weight at the airport is expensive.

  2. Keep documents with you

Do not put your passport, entry permit or medicines in the hold: luggage can be delayed.

  3. Message your manager

Tell them your arrival time — someone will meet you and explain how to get to your accommodation.
